Christian Education at BMHA

The Christian Education Department at Back Mountain Harvest Assembly is designed with a wide range of teaching programs and resources for everyone from infant to adult ages. Our curriculum ensures that our teachers- partnering with the Holy Spirit- foster learning through age-appropriate lessons. Every child will hear and learn about God through life application lessons, take-home papers, devotionals, and class participation.
As a parent or guardian, you can be assured that your child is developing a solid, eternal foundation in a safe, fun-filled environment. All of our teachers are required to submit to a thorough background check, as well as attend a Child Abuse Prevention Screening Class. Two adults are present in each classroom-teaching situation.
Christian Education classes are held from 9:45 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. on Sunday mornings. Information on individual classes can be found below.
If further information is needed, please contact us by the feedback form on our Contact Page,by phone, or by e-mail.

The Nursery
The Nursery is designed to care for infants and toddlers ages 0-2 years of age. The goals of the Nursery are to provide a safe, fun, loving, and Christ-centered environment for the infants and toddlers of Back Mountain Harvest Assembly.
The Nursery is located downstairs to the left of the Fellowship Hall, Rooms 2 & 3.
Preschool, Ages 3 & 4
Our Preschool Christian Education Class is designed to maximize kids' strengths- active movement and play. Using this "teachable moments" approach allows the children to learn about God while having fun. Take-home papers and Bible-time stories will keep them learning all through the week.
Kindergarten, Ages 5 & 6
Our 5 & 6 year old class is designed to help the children build a Christ-centered foundation. With active learning, the children can retain a higher percentage of what they have gathered by utilizing a sensory approach to learning. Take-home papers and Bible stories are incorporated in order to allow the entire family to take part in the learning process.
Primary, Grades 1 & 2
In our Primary Christian Education Class, the children are introduced not only to Bible stories and characters, but also to learning modules which will aid in their own character development. We want our children to choose to do the right thing because they love Jesus, and want to be like Him. Life application lessons are included in each class.
Middler, Grades 3 & 4
In the Middler Group, we encourage our 3rd and 4th graders to build a personal relationship with the Lord. We also stress memorization of Bible verses that will help them hide God's word in their hearts. This helps the children to develop proficiencies necessary for Bible Quiz, a tremendous program of Bible memorization, quizzing skills, and team fellowship.
Preteen
Our goal for the Preteens is to learn even more about God, discover how to live like Christ, and make new friends through fellowship events both inside, and outside the classroom. Character development topics are stressed, and outside-the-classrooom fellowship events are encouraged.
Young Teen
Our Young Teen class is designed to foster learning through relationships with God, and with others. The discussion-based class format encourages our teens to talk with one another, discussing important issues, and connecting Biblical principles to everyday life.
Teen
The Teen class continues to build on the foundations that were stressed in the Young Teen class. Our young people are taught both the importance of consulting the Lord's direction in their decision-making processes, and to keep Christ as the center of all their relationships. These Godly life-preparation skills are essential building blocks for the successful futures of these young men and women.
Adult Classes
Our Adult Christian Education classes are run as electives, with each series lasting approximately 8 weeks. To view the current Adult Electives, Click Here.
